Dayton Intermediate, Smith Valley and Fernley High Schools also had students who received recognition from the Scholastic Art Awards.  Pictures of these students' artwork will be posted soon.
Andrea Delfin at Dayton Intermediate School had 5 students who won 5 awards including a Silver Key.  Laura Smith-Fillmore at Smith Valley Schools had 6 students who won 8 awards including a Gold Key and Silver Key.  Amy Weishahn and Amerique Powell at Fernley High School had 7 students who won 18 awards including 3 Gold Keys, 5 Silver Keys and an American Visions Nominee.  A student from Yerington who submitted as a homeschool student won a Gold Key and is also an American Visions Nominee.

Congratulations to all of our LCSD students and their teachers for their recognition!

Dayton Intermediate Theater Returns!

Dayton Intermediate School Theater is back in session! The students performed a few plays in late January via Facebook Live for all of their fans to see and enjoy.  The plays performed were "Once Upon a Zoom" by Edith Weiss and "The Boy Who Cried Werewolf" by Daniel Guyton. Even with all the obstacles and adjustments that needed to be made, the students did a fantastic job! Way to go DIS Theater!  The DIS Theatre class is led by National Board Certified Teacher Lindsay Etter!
