Beyond the Classroom with Virtual Family Nights!

Check out the awesome virtual AND hands-on activities that Dayton and Fernley Elementary Schools have brought to their students. Dayton Elementary School (DES) hosted a reading of It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown on Facebook Live and Zoom.  Prior to the live event, the students were able to visit the DES Pumpkin Patch and pick a pumpkin to take home and decorate.  All students in cohorts A and B plus full-distance students had the opportunity to pick out a pumpkin to decorate at home and bring it back to DES for display in the office.  This event was one of DES's family engagement nights this year. Fernley Elementary School has partnered with Sierra Nevada Journeys to host virtual family STEM nights the second Tuesday of each month.  This month, the students used spaghetti and marshmallows to try and build the tallest tower.  The event was available via Zoom to the students.
