Dayton High Theatre Troupe 5373

Dayton High Theatre Troupe 5373 has been working hard and improving their skills within the restrictions of the pandemic! Students Emma Cowee, Emily Darnell, Sierra Braun, Ben Buchanan, Chance Reasons, Blanca Duarte, and Diana Banuelos-Ibarra all starred in the play Cheating Death by Kamron Klitgaard, which we were able to perform for an audience of teachers and staff on January 21, as well as stream on Zoom to parents at home! In addition, the one act was submitted to the Nevada Thespians Virtual Regional Festival where it received a Superior rating and the opportunity to showcase at the state conference! Students also submitted monologues and songs for regional adjudication. Sierra Braun, Emily Darnell, Ben Buchanan, Diana Banuelos, and Blanca Duarte all received a rating of excellent. Emma Cowee received a Superior rating for her monologues, which means she is qualified for the International Thespian Festival!

What is a SRO?  The SRO is a deputy of the Lyon County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) whose primary job responsibility is within the school community.  The goal of this position, which is attained through a partnership with LCSO, is to foster positive relationships with students through close contact.  Although, the SRO position is new to Dayton and Fernley schools, the position is in its second year in the Silver Springs schools and has seen a very positive impact. Dayton Intermediate Theater Returns!

Dayton Intermediate School Theater is back in session! The students performed a few plays in late January via Facebook Live for all of their fans to see and enjoy.  The plays performed were "Once Upon a Zoom" by Edith Weiss and "The Boy Who Cried Werewolf" by Daniel Guyton. Even with all the obstacles and adjustments that needed to be made, the students did a fantastic job!
