Family Style Dining at SSMS

Silver Stage Middle School is enjoying a true family style dining at lunch at least once a week with their students.  They use real dishes and engage in real conversations, and when they are all done, they compost their leftovers.
 
Family Style Dining happens every Wednesday in November from 11AM-12:30PM and will take on Tuesdays beginning in December!

What is a SRO?  The SRO is a deputy of the Lyon County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) whose primary job responsibility is within the school community.  The goal of this position, which is attained through a partnership with LCSO, is to foster positive relationships with students through close contact.  Although, the SRO position is new to Dayton and Fernley schools, the position is in its second year in the Silver Springs schools and has seen a very positive impact. Dayton Intermediate Theater Returns!

Dayton Intermediate School Theater is back in session! The students performed a few plays in late January via Facebook Live for all of their fans to see and enjoy.  The plays performed were "Once Upon a Zoom" by Edith Weiss and "The Boy Who Cried Werewolf" by Daniel Guyton. Even with all the obstacles and adjustments that needed to be made, the students did a fantastic job! Way to go DIS Theater!  The DIS Theatre class is led by National Board Certified Teacher Lindsay Etter!
