Be Kind Like Bryce!

BE NICE LIKE BRYCE

On Wednesday, October 17 at Dayton Intermediate School's cross country meet, there was a young man from Dayton who has struggled all season with loud noises and crowds that come with the excitement of middle school meets.  On this day, he was having a very difficult time from the start. Prior to the race, he was already struggling with anxiety and 300 meters into the race he was stopped and leaning on the fence. Before any of the adults and coaches could react, Bryce Carboni from Silver Stage Middle School was already sprinting across the football field and encouraging the struggling runner.  Bryce Carboni then proceeded to run/walk the entire course with him and encouraged him to run as much as possible, but more importantly, to finish the race.  It was an amazing display of sportsmanship.  Today, Principal Kevin Kranjcec and Athletic Director Dusti Houk from Dayton Intermediate School with the help of SSMS Principal Amber Taylor held an assembly to recognize Bryce's act of kindness and present him with an award in front of his peers.  The new motto at SSMS is Be Nice Like Bryce!

Bryce is truly an inspiration for Lyon County students and staff!
