Dayton Intermediate Leadership Class Spirit of Nevada Winners

It was announced today that Dayton Intermediate School's leadership class was award the NASC (Nevada Association of Student Councils) Spirit of Nevada Award!

The Spirit of Nevada Award is the highest honor given to middle-level student councils by the NASC. It is reserved for those councils that go above and beyond their typical school and community expectations.

In order to be considered for the award DIS leadership had to complete the minimum requirements:
Charitable Drive
Financial Drive
School or Community Service project 
School Spirit Activities 
Regular meetings 
Teacher or Student Appreciation/Recognition Activity

DIS Principal Kevin Kranjcec states, "We are so incredibly proud of the efforts of our leadership class. They have had a tremendous impact on DIS as well as the Dayton community by volunteering at the Senior Center, Community Roots and the Food Bank."

DIS is one of five middle schools in the state of Nevada to receive the award.  Their advisor is National Board Certified Teacher Lindsay Etter.
