LCSD Graduates' Scholarships!

Our 500 Lyon County School District graduates received hundred of thousands in scholarships! 50 students also graduated with an Associate's Degree through the JumpStart program! Many students received the Nevada Promise Scholarships, the Millennium Scholarships and UNR Scholarships!   Silver Springs Schools Community Event – Zulily’s Reno Fulfillment Center Gives Back Silver Springs, NV, June 10, 2019 – Two rural Nevada Title I schools and the surrounding community indulge in a shopping spree made possible by online retailer Zulily and its many vendor partners.   The schools walked away with over $10,000 a piece to complement their fundraising efforts and the community indebted.   On June 1, 2019, the Silver Springs community benefitted tremendously from a community and employees sale held at the Silver Springs Community Center.   Zulily, through its thousands of vendor partners, provided the enormous pallet loads of product to be sold at the community sale.   In the months leading up to the sale, 45 team members from Zulily’s Reno, NV Fulfillment Center (NVFC) joined in the effort and volunteers from Silver Stage Elementary and Middle schools spent their free-time organizing the community center, and on the day of the event, hel

LCSD Grad Gazette presents: Jaid Roberts, Future Deputy Silver Springs, NV, June 6, 2019 – Jaid Roberts was born in Ogden, UT but has been in Silver Springs since she was a baby.  She was brought up through the Silver Stage Elementary, Middle and High Schools.  Linda Harrison, a staff member at Silver Stage Middle School describes Jaid, "S he has overcome so much to become a well-spoken graduate.  I had her as a middle school resource student.  She was so shy that I rarely heard her voice."  During her time in high school, Jaid was employed by the Red's Candies in Virginia City for three years before beginning her current job at the Red Dog restaurant in Virginia City.  In addition, Jaid has been a member of the Storey County Sheriff's Explorer program since its inception about a year ago.
