TBT on a Monday!
A little throwback to some of the great things that have happened this semester!
~~~
Dayton High School's Environmental Science Class participated in Silver Stage Middle School's Fall Festival. The high school students showed elementary students how they could repurpose water bottles into self-watering planters to start garden vegetables indoors in the spring. (This is especially useful for tomato and jalapeno plants) The elementary students took their planters that contained lettuce seeds home to grow them in their windowsills.
Dayton High School (DHS) Marine Science and Environment Science classes conducted chemical testing and the collection of macroorganisms at the Carson River near DHS. Students conducted turbidity, oxygen and pH tests, as well as collecting and identifying different macroorganisms to determine the health of the river.
Students collected and analyzed data to give a score to the river: a GOOD rating was achieved!
