“The Cub Safety Enforcement Team”

The fourth grade at Y.E.S has started a program where students are trained to serve as safety officers during morning and lunch recess to support school wide safety procedures. The program’s objective is to model desirable behaviors, promote leadership skills, encourage students to brainstorm peaceful resolutions and to empower the safety officers to resolve conflict peacefully.  Our officers are sworn in by a Yerington police officer and the officer issues them their safety vests, badges and safety citations that they will issue to students who violate school safety expectations.
